Best wishes for the New Year Fellow Optimists!

2011 is coming to an end, but the Optimist year is going strong.  Breakfast with Santa was a fantastic success thanks to Optimist Alison and Sheri and their entire team.  Special thanks to the many Optimists that joined in to help out.  The kids had a memorable morning. Christmas in the Park was brighter & better than ever, thanks to Dennis and  the team.  This event has become an Orangeville Christmas Feature Event, drawing people from all over.  I received compliments from the visitors while on security duty, some who had come from as far away as Vancouver to see our light show (and visit relatives.)

Optimist Todd, D’Arcy & Bob are booking us with great speakers for your enjoyment and there is lots more to come.  If you haven’t been out to a meeting lately, we miss you and hope to see you in the near future.  Our next exciting adventures are just around the corner, with the JackRabbits program starting January 8 at Monora Park.  Come out and join us and the hot chocolate is on me!  Contact Optimist Greg Janisse for details.  Our famous  Maple Syrup Fest. will be  March 24/25 this year. This is an “all hands on deck“ event so please reserve that week end for the Club.  Our “Now program“ is kicking off shortly, with details to follow soon.  Our  main fund raiser “The Fantasy Auction“ with a new look, is set for April 27, 2012.  We need lots of ideas for auction items and entertainment so we will be asking everyone to pitch in.

This has been a great Optimist year so far, lets keep the fun rolling.
