Optimism has a lot of wind in it’s face these days.  As the leaves change and winter approaches it is a time when we can dip into the well of Optimism together and refresh or re-task ourselves to try to be more optimistic.  I hope this year that we can continue to push back a bit against the wind and drive some positive messages and community momentum in our usual way.  Let’s watch each other’s backs and press forward with a toned-down / virtual event list in a safe and professional manner.

We will continue to meet at the Senior’s Centre live in person or virtually on Zoom.  Please bear with us on the tech issues for the Zoom connection until we sort this out better.  Opt. Bob will professionally keep you up to date on the upcoming schedule and all protocols as he always does.  Let’s wear our masks and practice safe distancing until this passes.

In this time of change it may a good opportunity for the club to try to do something new.  If you have ideas, please forward them to me or anyone on the Board.  We need one more fundraising event at least to diversify our proceeds sources.  We also have a goal for this year of 6 new members so please help us grow the club and Optimism in Orangeville by finding new members.

A big thank you to all of our club members for your participation and efforts for Optimism.  Also, a bigger thank you to our community sponsors for your help with funding Christmas in the Park, the Kid’s Bike Roadeo and all our community initiatives.

Yours in Optimism,

Ian McGugan, President
