On Thursday Aug 13, the Optimist Club of Orangeville presented a cheque for $3000 to DCAFS (Dufferin Child & Family Services) to help a family as they navigate the resources and requirements of a child diagnosed with FASD (Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder). This grant was made possible by CCOF (Canadian Children’s Optimist Foundation), which supports individual Optimist Clubs by providing opportunities to enhance health and wellness for youth through their Spread Relief Grant

In late June, Mary Rose of the Orangeville Optimists conceived the idea for backpacks for children going to school in the fall, an initiative close to her heart after her 37 years with the school system.
